Mr. Pham Duc Long

Deputy Minister of Information and Communications

Mr. Pham Duc Long was born in 1970, holds a doctorate in electronics and telecommunications in Japan. He has held the positions of Deputy Director and Director of VNPT in Ho Chi Minh City. In January 2014, he was appointed as Deputy General Director; in April 2015, he was appointed General Director of VNPT Group; in June 2020, he was appointed Chairman of the Board of Members of VNPT Group. On August 6, 2021 Mr. Pham Duc Long was appointed as Deputy Minister of Information and Communications.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Thang

Director General of Viet Nam Internet Information Center (VNNIC)

Nguyen Hong Thang joined VNNIC in 2000 as one of pioneers of the organization. He was one of the first engineers and played a key role in building many of critical local Internet system such as National DNS system for .VN ccTLD, Vietnam National Internet Exchange point – VNIX, Vietnam National IPv6 Network and got appointed as the Deputy Director of VNNIC since August, 2011. In 2020, Mr. Nguyen Hong Thang get promotion as Director General of VNNIC. 

Thang is a board member of the Vietnam National IPv6 Task Force (VNIPv6TF). He has been actively devoting himself on promotion and deployment of IPv6 in Vietnam.

Mr. Geoff Huston

Chief Scientist, APNIC

Geoff Huston is the Chief Scientist at the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC), where he undertakes research on topics associated with Internet infrastructure, IP technologies, and address distribution policies.

Widely regarded as the preeminent researcher on IPv4 exhaustion, he is routinely referenced by international agencies and frequently quoted by the ICT media.

Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang has many years of experience in designing, operating and managing network system as well as security system. Now he is responsible for operating and managing Viet Nam National Internet Exchange system, DNS system, the security system of VNNIC, including national IPv6 network.

Mr. Jimmy Nguyen

Founding President, BSV Blockchain Association

One of the world’s leading blockchain advocates, Jimmy Nguyen is Founding President of the Switzerland-based global industry organization that supports the BSV blockchain. BSV is a massively scaled blockchain that efficiently handles high transaction volume and greater data capacity at fast speed for low transaction fees – capabilities needed to technology applications at enterprise levels.

Through the BSV Blockchain for Government Initiative, Jimmy also leads efforts to provide education and drives global adoption of blockchain technology by government bodies, NGOs and public sector agencies in order to accelerate digital transformation and ignite economic growth. Jimmy has led blockchain delegations and initiatives to educate government representatives in countries such as United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Sudan. With his legal background, Jimmy also regularly engages with global lawmakers and industry participants to build a regulation-friendly ecosystem that fosters lawful conduct while facilitating innovation using all aspects of blockchain technology.
In January 2020, Jimmy was recognized as one of the “Most Influential Individuals in Blockchain” by TurgenSec, an information security research company. SFOX has listed Jimmy as one of “The BSV People You Need to Know.”

With 21 years’ prior experience as an intellectual property and digital technology lawyer, Jimmy was a partner at three major U.S. law firms – most recently Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, where he represented multinational corporations and emerging companies in a wide range of sectors. In 2008, Lawdragon named Jimmy (at only age 36) one of the “500 Leading Lawyers in America” and described him as a “dynamo talent.” A leader in the IP community, Jimmy was formerly Chair of the State Bar of California’s Intellectual Property Law section.

Jimmy is also a strong diversity and equal rights advocate. He co-chaired the California Minority Counsel Program and was inducted into its “Diversity Leader Hall of Fame” (2015). Diversity MBA Magazine named him a “Top 100 Under 50 Diverse Executive Leader” (2015).

Mr. Cricket Liu

Chief DNS Architect, Infoblox

Cricket is one of the world’s leading experts on the Domain Name System (DNS), and serves as the liaison between Infoblox and the DNS community. Before joining Infoblox, he founded an Internet consulting and training company, Acme Byte &Wire, after running the hp.com domain at Hewlett-Packard. Cricket is a prolific speaker and author, having written a number of books including “DNS and BIND,” one of the most widely used references in the field, now in its fifth edition.

Mr. Binh Lam

Senior Director, Engineering &Operations, NTT

Binh Lam leads the Network Engineering and Operations at NTT, Australia. With over 20 years of experience in Telecommunications and Service Providers, Binh has seen many network implementations and operations fail due to poor network design. He is an active dual CCIE (R &S, SP), and a Cisco Certified Design Expert (CCDE). His extensive range of knowledge and experience has shown in his ability to mitigate and resolve problems.

Binh’s intrinsic passion lies in assessing network designs that meet customer business requirements. Offering network solutions that solve network design problems from the root cause. His passion for helping customers with user-centric network design skills positions him as one of the leaders in his field. Using his practical skills and experience with design principles enables him to provide solutions to complex problems in network security, resilience, scalability and manageability.

He has deep knowledge and practical experience with a wide array of technologies, and has ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges. His technical experience in implementation, troubleshooting, and operating a wide range of large-scale service providers and enterprise networks places him at the top tier in the industry.

Prof. Sureswaran Ramadass

Chairman of IPv6 Forum (Malaysia)

Professor Sureswaran Ramadass is Professor Emeritus at the Malaysian University of Science and Technology (MUST). His current area of focus includes IPv6 Security and IPv6 over 5G. His last position was as the Chairman of the ITU/UN (International Telecommunications Union) IPv6 and IOT Center of Expertise.

Prior to this, he was the founding Director and Professor at the National Advanced IPv6 Centre of Excellence (NAV6), Universiti Sains Malaysia. As the Director of Nav6, he was instrumental in the successful implementation of IPv6 in Malaysia.

He obtained his BsEE/CE (Magna Cum Laude) and Masters in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Miami in 1987 and 1990 respectively. He graduated top student in the College of Engineering. He obtained his PhD from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 2000 while serving as a full time faculty .

Some of his recognitions include being awarded:

  • The “Anugerah Tokoh Negara” (National Academic Leader) for Innovation and Commercialization in 2008 by the Minister of Higher Education. This award is given in recognition to contributions to Innovation and commercialisation in the area of science and technology.
  • Emeritus Chair, IPv6 Forum Education Programme.
  • The Wireless World Research Forum Fellow in April 2010. This fellowship award was presented in recognition to his contribution in the area of Next Generation Networks and IPv6.

Malaysian Innovation Award by the Prime Minister in 2007 and again by the Minister of Science and Technology in 2009. These Awards were given in recognition for his contribution towards innovations in the areas of Multimedia Conferencing Systems and Real-time Advanced Security Monitoring.

Mr. Srinivas Chendi

Senior Advisor - Policy and Community Development APNIC

Srinivas Chendi is APNIC ’s Senior Advisor for Policy and Community Development and also Liaison Officer for the South Asia region. He is responsible for supporting the APNIC community in the resource Policy Development Process and enhancing the levels of engagement and participation of the members of the community which APNIC serves. He also manages the South Asia region Liaison role while establishing partnerships with external organizations to encourage latest technical deployments and help the community derive the maximum benefit from developments at APNIC.

Srinivas has worked in a variety of roles at APNIC and elsewhere, including External Relations Manager, Policy Development Manager, Online Services Manager, Internet Resource Analyst, Technical Support Supervisor, and Systems Security Analyst.

Srinivas represents APNIC at an economic and regional level and is constantly on the lookout for opportunities to collaborate with the Asia Pacific community.

In 2021, he was appointed to hold the position of Deputy Director of the Center for Informatics.
